I have the pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination. We are a specialized institution, called upon to carry out the national agenda in the sphere of equal opportunity and equal treatment for all citizens on the territory of the republic of Bulgaria. Differences amongst people, based on gender, race, ethnicity, religion, social status, as well as any other criteria, can not and should not become reason for inequality, privileges or any other display of intolerance. To accomplish this difficult task is necessary the effort of every member of the civil society.

In walking this difficult path, the Commission for Protection against Discrimination needs the support of the NGO sector, the national institutions, the media and everyone of you, so its work has the utmost effect. Only in unity and with shared efforts, we can decrease and bring to a minimum the intolerance and manifestation of prejudice and bigotry in the interaction amongst us, because even diverse, we are the world and the world is for all.
Let us unite in our diversity and become better and more understanding.
