On 23 April 2024, Shirin Kasab, Regional Representative of the CPD for Dobrich region, organized and held an open reception in the town of Dobrich. Tervel, in the meeting room of the municipality.
The reception was attended by representatives of the educational system - pedagogical advisors of the secondary school “Yordan Yovkov” - gr. Tervel, and the Vocational School of Engineering and Clothing “Docho Mihaylov” - town. Tervel.
The regional representative of the CPD informed the attendees about the powers and activities of the CPD, gave explanations on the Law on Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the rules for initiating proceedings before the CPD. Emphasis was placed on issues raised by the Education Act, Section II - protection in the exercise of the right to education and training.
Shirin Kasab also held a working meeting with Dragomir Dimitrov, Secretary of Tervel Municipality, and Katya Kostadinova, the new coordinator of the CPC.
During the meeting, explanations were given on the DIPR Act and the protected characteristics set out therein. A number of questions on discrimination in different spheres of public life were raised. Joint initiatives, meetings with mayors and residents of Tervel municipality were agreed.
A hard copy of the HIPAA was provided to be posted in a conspicuous place in the Township.
