On 15 May 2024. Valya Kotelska, Regional Representative of the CPD for Smolyan Region, visited the “Nikola Y. Vaptsarov - 1997” - village of Srednogortsi, Madan municipality. An open lesson was held here, organized together with the head teacher Bilyana Sirakova.
The event was attended by pupils from grades 5 and 6, and a discussion was held on episode 1 of the School Without Discrimination training package.
The children were explained what stereotype and prejudice are and the hate speech, racism, etc. that result from them. The children actively participated with opinions and examples. Attention was also paid to tolerance as a counter to discrimination.
During the discussion, each of the children expressed their opinion that we should be considerate in freedom of speech, as well as tolerant in dealing with people all around us - in the family, at school, with friends, etc.
