On 27 May 2024. Valya Kotelska, Regional Representative of the CPD for Smolyan Region, attended a round table on “Raising awareness on domestic and gender-based violence in Smolyan municipality” at the invitation of the Rodopchanka Women's Club.
The aim of the event was to raise awareness about domestic violence among local authorities, journalists and NGOs in the municipality.
The forum was opened by the Governor of the region Zahari Sirakov, who congratulated the participants and wished them fruitful work. The meeting was held at the Regional Library “Nikolay Vranchev”. The speakers were Anelia Yoncheva - a lawyer with extensive experience in domestic violence cases, and the psychologist Lyubomira Kadieva - an expert at the YES - United Against Violence Foundation.
