On 19 April 2024 Iva Valchanova-Yordanova, as the regional representative of the CPD for the Shumen Region, held an open reception and information campaign in the municipality of Kaolinovo. The campaign was attended by teachers, mediators, specialists of the “Future for Children” project, the “Prosveta 1934” community center, 11th grade and 12th grade students from the “G. С. Rakovski” in Kaolinovo.
Attendees were explained the activities, the way of referral to the CPD, the election of the composition of the institution.
The protected characteristics under the Law on Protection against Discrimination were examined.
A role-play was played, asking the spectacle-wearing attendees to leave the room, which reinforced the recognition of discriminatory attitudes and intolerance. Emphasis was given to tolerance as a guarantee against discrimination.
Interest was aroused by the decisions of the CPD on unequal treatment in employment on the grounds of gender, ethnicity, disability, as well as segregation in education.
