On 22 February 2024. Orlin Kissov, regional representative of the CPD for the Varna region, held an information meeting at the regional trade union of the Confederation of Labour “Support” in the regional city.
The attendees were informed about the competences and powers of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination, as well as about the Commission's open-ended campaign - “Accessible Bulgaria”. The possibilities for organizing future joint initiatives with informative and preventive orientation were discussed.
The practice of the CPD in the field of employment and social assistance is discussed, as specific cases on the legally protected sign of “trade union affiliation” are discussed. Eng. Vasil Vassilev, chairman of the SRC CTU “Podkrepa” - Varna, presented the activities of the 170 trade union organizations in the district, which have more than 7000 employees as members. He pointed out that the main goal of the CTU “Podkrepa” is the protection of trade union rights and interests of its members.
