On 11 June 2024. for the representatives of the National Council for Combating Discrimination of Romania - Astalos Csaba - President, Catalin Raiu - Secretary of State and member of the Governing Board of the institution, Cristina Vlad - Head of the Litigation, Legal Affairs and Structures Office, Adina Patrascu - Director of the Economics, Human Resources and Communications, Christian Nuica - Head of the Legal Department, Marius Mirodoni - Counsellor, Communications, Public Relations and Personnel Management, a visit was organised to the Bachkovo St. Mary's Assumption Monastery. On behalf of His Eminence Bishop Sioni of Veliki, the guests were warmly welcomed and greeted by Father Evtimius. He acquainted the delegation with the history of Bachkovo Monastery, with the current activities and future works that lie ahead of the monastery. Prof. Dr. Baki Husseinov - Deputy Chairman of the CPD, presented Bishop Sioni for the monastery an honorary plaque of the CPD. On behalf of the monastery, Bishop Sioni gave the guests the History of the Bachkovo Holy Monastery and a copy of the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of the Three Hands.
The guests visited the Ancient Theatre in the Architectural and Historical Reserve “Ancient Plovdiv”, as well as the symbols of the old town - the Hindliyan and Balaban houses and the Museum of Pharmacy.
The visit was attended by Prof. Dr. Baki Husseinov - Deputy Chairman of the CPD, members of the CPD - Dr. Vladimira Stoimenova, Zlatina Dukova, Eng. Nasko Atanasov and Sofia Yovcheva, as well as Prof. Dr. Nadezhda Yonkova - Secretary General of the CPD, Elka Bozhova - Director of the SPAP Directorate, and the regional representatives of the CPD for the Plovdiv Region Guler Deliali and Hristo Gaidarov. .
