Memorandum of Cooperation between CPC and TV1 Bulgaria
On 7 June 2024 a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Commission for Protection against Discrimination (CPD) and TV1 Bulgaria Ltd. The Memorandum was signed by Prof. Dr. Ana Dzhumaliyeva, Chairperson of the CPD, and Maria Vassileva, co-producer, author and presenter of the TV1 Bulgaria programme “The Brands of Bulgaria”.

 Under the signed memorandum, the two parties agree to cooperate in the field of mass media as a forum for social interaction and communication, and the initiatives and activities of the parties to be conditioned by the idea of tolerance and equality of treatment. 

 The parties express their desire for cooperation and joint activities, which consist in the preparation and promotion of various initiatives and information campaigns related to the prevention of hate speech in the media environment, to counteract discrimination in society, to the inaccessible architectural environment.

 The Memorandum shall be concluded for an unlimited period.

 Associate Professor Dzhumaliyeva presented Maria Vassileva for TV1 Bulgaria with an honorary plaque of the CPD. TV Bulgaria expresses on behalf of the director of the media Rumen Kovachev and its management its sincere satisfaction with the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the CPD and the possibility of future joint initiatives for the prevention of discrimination for the benefit of society.

 The signing of the memorandum was attended by Prof. Dr. Ana Dzhumalieva - Chairperson of the CPD, Prof. Dr. Baki Husseinov - Deputy Chairperson of the CPD, Elka Bozhova - Director of the SPAP Directorate, Svilena Ivanova - Head of the Specialized Proceedings Department, and Maya Stefanova - Senior Legal Advisor at the CPD.
