The purpose of the event was to provide participants with an opportunity to discuss future actions in relation to the recommendations contained in the ECRI monitoring report on Bulgaria, published in October 2022, and the related interim conclusions for follow-up action on Bulgaria, published in February 2025.\n\nOpening speeches at the event were made by Atanas Zafirov, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the National Council for Cooperation on Ethnic and Integration Issues, Genka Georgieva, Director General for Global Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bertil Coutier, President of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance, and Ana Dzhumalieva, President of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination.\n\nIn addition to representatives of national and local authorities, the roundtable was attended by representatives of civil society as well as members of groups of interest to ECRI.
